Linux Infrastructure Specialist

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Travel Required: Up to 80% or 4 days a week (home on weekends - based on project requirements)

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Linux Infrastructure Specialist you will support the infrastructure running  industries likes transportation, energy, insurance, banking or healthcare which are rapidly changing as the world's relationship with technology evolves. Ready to help our clients take the next step forward?

As a Linux Infrastructure Specialist, you'll be responsible for keeping up with the latest changes, using your expertise to  deliver solutions that meet the needs of our clients and products. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Supporting and enhancing a large Linux Server estate running on a mix of VMWare and physical servers (to get the best performance from the matching grid computing clusters). Work will include deployments (building the new face matching cluster), troubleshooting (e.g. identifying and resolving problems found during testing), performance tuning maintenance (e.g. patching), building out new capabilities, automation of tasks.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Strong Execution (Infrastructure, network, storage, OS/Linux etc.) skills leveraging Cloud technologies including OpenStack, Softlayer, Amazon etc.
  • Good understanding of monitoring techniques and automation from Infrastructure perspective.
  • Strong ITIL skills, System management specialists.


Preferred Education: Associate's Degree/College Diploma
