Our dynamic business is dedicated to delivering a range of sophisticated metering and data acquisition solutions to the power industry. Our comprehensive portfolio includes both hardware and software products, developed in-house or sourced from trusted third-party suppliers. We specialise in tackling complex network solutions, Dynamic System Monitoring, Power Quality, and Generator performance monitoring.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical product and engineering support to our Project Delivery team. You will be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for solution development with occasional visits to customer sites for fault-finding or to support system integration.
The company in Rochester are growing. And we're looking for Solution Architects to come with us on this journey for growth, to tackle our exciting new projects and champion project engineering activities within the High accuracy metering and system monitoring Portfolio.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement, with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remaining days working remotely.
You'll make a difference by:
- Expertise of in house and third-party hardware and software systems; Providing technical support to project engineers, and tendering to ensure systems are installed, configured, commissioned, and maintained to customer requirements and specifications
- Produce system architectures in accordance with design standards and customer requirements
- Analyse engineering problems related to equipment and systems or the causes of component failures and develop solutions to provide full resolution
- Support FAT, FIT, SIT and SAT procedures coupled with successful completion of customer witness testing requirements
- Work closely with the Product Manager on testing and development of new solutions and upgrades to existing systems and deliver training and appropriate documentation.
Your defining qualities/skills:
- Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required.
- Excellent time/task management skills and strong practical, hands-on experience
- Ability to assess system requirements and solutions based on standard designs
- Experience with RS232 / 485, GPRS, LTE, Ethernet connections, configuration of switches & routers, SCADA integration and interface with other communications systems.
- Ability to interpret and use various engineering software packages.
